These bumble bee cookies will have all your friends buzzing!

Ingredients

  • 1 pouch Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 2 Tbsp Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/3 cups Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting (from 12-oz container)
  • Yellow gel or paste food color
  • 1 tube (3.5 oz) black decorating gel or decorating icing
  • Yellow decorating sugar
  • Blue decorating sugar
  • 8 large white or yellow gumdrops, cut into 6 slices each
  • 5 large black gumdrops

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F. In bowl, stir cookie mix, butter, flour and egg until soft dough forms. Roll dough on floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with 3 1/4-inch oval cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.
  2. Bake 8-10 min or until light golden brown around edges. Cool 1 min; remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely.
  3. In bowl, color white frosting with yellow food color; frost cookies. Pipe eyes and stripes with black gel. Sprinkle yellow decorating sugar on edge of frosting. On surface sprinkled with blue decorating sugar, flatten white gumdrop slices, cut sides down; cut into wings. Place on bees. Cut black gumdrops to make stingers; place on bees.

Prep Guide and Tips:
Success To get the best sugar coating on the wings, flatten the cut surfaces of gumdrop slices in the blue decorating sugar. Do not use the end pieces, as the blue sugar will not stick to them.
